SC5000 DJ Media Player
The SC5000 is a modern stand-alone DJ media player which is the first to include a multitouch display and built in WiFi for streaming music. Supported by DJs across the planet including well known DJs Maceo Plex, Laidback Luke, Shaquille O’Neal, and Paul Oakenfold.
My Role
As the Product Manager I used data from users to create a more refined hardware experience and helped bring the software that ran inside be accessible and easy to work with. From wire framing to hardware prototyping I had the role of a lifetime creating a new DJing experience.
Development
In concert with teams from Japan, Germany, UK, Taiwan and the United States we built the SC5000, bringing to life not only my dreams but the dreams of stakeholders and DJs alike. I worked closely with product owners to ensure the workflow was consistent, easy, and accessible.
Design
Synthesizing data I collected over years of working with DJs across the planet I worked on several concepts. Working with the team I designed the the physical control surface, hardware features and built wireframes for the embedded software’s flow. Afterwards, I built out engineering and functional specifications for the departments to follow.
Management
On top of maintaining the design specifications I worked with
Marketing and Sales to make sure all the teams were aware of the features, milestone dates,
and training the Product Specialists. I traveled worldwide to ensure the successful launch and post launch for the SC5000 and it’s operating system - Engine OS.
